“The roller mechanism on our existing net broke. They replaced it with a new upgraded system that rolls smoother and locks in place better. Much better than the original.”

Mosquito nets in The Lakes
The Lakes is an Emaar villa community in Emirates Living, built around lakes and water features. Mosquitoes follow the water, so owners here screen the garden doors and the rooms facing the lake. A pleated window screen starts from AED 380, a garden door is AED 1,550 per door, and measuring is free.

Neighbourhoods around the water
The Lakes has villas in neighbourhoods such as Deema, Forat, Ghadeer, Maeen and Zulal. Emaar built them with three to five bedrooms, each with a private garden.
Lakes, water features and The Lakes Club sit between the streets. Zulal is known for its lake views, and Hattan for the golf course behind it. The garden door and the upstairs windows face that view.

Mosquito screens upstairs: two checks
Do your upstairs windows open outwards?
The screen goes on the inside of the frame, and the window still opens.
An inward opening window takes the screen on the outside.
Is the view from that room the reason you bought the villa?
Take a pleated screen you can fold out of sight.
A fixed frame screen is simpler and costs less.

Questions
What people ask
Do the lakes bring more mosquitoes?+
Water features and watered planting keep the air damp, which mosquitoes like. Evenings by the lake are when a screen on the garden door matters most.
Which mesh keeps the lake view clearest?+
Ultra-view mesh is the most see-through. Anti-glare mesh at AED 650 per m² also softens the light off the water.
How much for a villa in The Lakes?+
A garden door is AED 1,550 per door, pleated windows start from AED 380 and French doors from AED 810. The free survey adds it up for every room.
Do I need an Emaar NOC for mosquito screens?+
The Lakes is run by Emaar Community Management, which reviews changes to the facade. A screen inside the frame, coated in your frame colour, changes little; ask ECM if unsure.
How long between the survey and fitting?+
3 to 5 days in most cases, and our own team does the fitting.
Do you work in every neighbourhood of The Lakes?+
Yes, from Deema and Forat to Hattan and Zulal. Measuring is free across Dubai.
