A fixed mosquito screen is an aluminium frame with mesh that sits on the window and stays there, clear of the sash. It is the simplest screen we make and the cheapest: AED 400 per m² with standard mesh, so a 1.5 × 1.2 m window comes to AED 720. It lifts off by hand for cleaning.

What a fixed fly screen is made of
An aluminium profile is cut to your window and joined at the corners. The mesh is pressed into a groove with a rubber spline, and a tall frame gets a crossbar so it stays flat.
Nothing slides, folds or winds, so there is almost nothing to wear out. The frame holds on small fixings and comes off by hand when the glass needs a wash.

Air conditioning runs most of the year, so many windows open only on cooler evenings. A fixed screen suits that: it waits on the window until you want the air.
After a shamal, fine dust sits in the mesh. Take the frame off, rinse it in the shower with a drop of washing-up liquid and let it dry upright in the shade.

Can I take the screen off to clean it?+
