Fixed Frame Mosquito Nets in Dubai
A fixed frame screen is a rigid aluminium panel with mesh stretched inside it, fitted into the opening from outside. There is no mechanism, nothing to adjust and nothing to break. It is the cheapest screen we make, starting at 200 AED per window, and on an ordinary window it is usually the right answer.
01THE LOWEST ENTRY POINT — 200 AED
There are no moving parts, so nothing fails except the mesh and the fixings. On a villa with a dozen identical windows it is the best value on the site.
02YOU CANNOT WALK THROUGH IT
A door, a terrace exit, a balcony set: a fixed frame either blocks the way or gets taken off ten times over.
03THE FIXING METHOD IS CHOSEN ON SITE
Z-plates hold best but mean holes in the window frame. Hooks and pins avoid drilling but do not suit every profile.
04WHAT MATTERS MORE THAN STRENGTH IN DUBAI
- Being able to take the screen off from inside without a ladder
- Left outside all year, the mesh is bleached by the sun
- A frame removed for the season does not age in the opening
- On upper floors this is the deciding argument
Who it suits
Suits you if
Perfect for a window that stays screened through the season and is opened for air rather than walked through. Fit it once, take it off twice a year to wash it, put it back. Because there is no spring, no rollers and no track, there is nothing to wear out, and that is why it lasts longer than any other type at the same price. On a first-floor window it also has a practical advantage: it lifts out from inside, so you are not cleaning it from a ladder.
Not for you if
It does not open. If you need to reach through the window, water plants on a sill or pass anything out, you will be lifting the whole panel off every time, and within a month it will end up leaning against the wall. It also does not suit a doorway at all: there is no way to walk through a rigid panel. And on a very large opening the frame becomes heavy enough that taking it down for cleaning stops being a one-person job.
How it works
Profile is cut to your measurements, the corners are pulled together with connectors and the mesh is set into a groove around the perimeter with a rubber cord. The frame is checked for flatness before it leaves the workshop: if it does not sit on all four corners, it is not allowed through.
There are three ways to hold it in the opening, and they are chosen by what your window is, not by preference. Z-brackets are two plates below and two above; the screen drops into the lower pair and stays put. They hold best and they need screws in the window frame. Hooks grip the outer edge of the sash and need no drilling, which is why they end up in rented flats and in towers where the management company forbids fixings. Pins slot into a groove in the frame and leave almost no trace, but they do not suit every profile.
For Dubai there is one more consideration worth stating plainly. A screen that stands outside all year gets bleached by sun and clogged by sand, so the ability to take it off from inside without a ladder is worth more than theoretical strength. On upper floors that argument settles the choice.

What it costs
From 200 AED per window in our price list. The calculator works from area at 320 AED per square metre plus 5% VAT, and options are priced per unit. The fixed frame is the cheapest system we make because there is no mechanism in it. What changes the figure is size and how it is fixed: a bracket into concrete and a bracket into a light partition are different jobs. That is why the quote comes after the survey, and the survey is free.
By opening type
There are no moving parts inside — in a framed screen there is nothing to fail except the mesh and the fixings.
Common questions
Which fixing should I choose?
Z-brackets if you can drill, hooks if you cannot. Pins do not suit every profile, and that is decided on site.
Will the wind take it off?
Not on Z-brackets. Hooks hold less firmly, and on the upper floors of a tower we would not fit them.
Can I take it off from inside?
On Z-brackets yes, if the window opens inwards. That matters more than it sounds when you live high up.
Can you match my window colour?
Yes, we powder-coat to the RAL palette as part of the order.
Can the mesh be replaced later?
Yes. If the frame is straight we simply re-stretch it, which costs less than a new screen.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Proof, not promises

Our building maintenance was taking too long, so I contacted them directly. They asked for photos on WhatsApp, sent a quotation and arranged a date. Two installers arrived exactly on time, used shoe covers and finished three windows and a balcony door before lunch. They even adjusted a loose window handle without charging extra.

My cat has always been a nightmare for scratching nets — she destroyed the last ones I had. They recommended a heavy-duty scratch-resistant mesh and it is brilliant. She has tried her hardest to claw through it and hasn't managed once. Much stronger than the regular stuff, but still clear enough.

I have really big windows, so I thought screens would be a hassle. They came, measured up and made custom frames that fit exactly. No gaps anywhere. It has been months and nothing has moved or sagged.

My apartment is right next to a garden, so the bugs have always been relentless. They fitted fibre mesh on everything and it has been a game changer — it keeps out even the smallest midges that used to drive me crazy. Less sand gets in on windy days too.

I have a lot of plants at home, so I was worried the screens would block too much light. They recommended a very thin, almost invisible mesh. Plenty of light still comes through, and there are no more small insects around my plants.

After waking up with mosquito bites several times, I decided to install screens. They fitted magnetic screens on two bedroom windows — quick and clean. The magnets close properly and keep insects out, and the mesh quality is much better than the cheap ones I had before.
