Pleated Mosquito Nets in Dubai
A pleated screen folds like an accordion into a narrow side cassette and closes openings up to 6 metres wide. That covers panoramic patio doors and wide windows where a rigid framed panel simply will not fit. We powder-coat the profile to any RAL colour to match your windows. Measurement is free and the warranty is 2 years.
01A WIDE OPENING WITH LITTLE ROOM FOR THE SYSTEM
The fabric stacks into a cassette the width of a palm, so a panoramic door or a poolside exit stays open across its full span.
02IT STOPS ANYWHERE ALONG THE RUN
There is no spring pulling the fabric back: the accordion is held by the tension of the cord inside the folds.
03THE FOLDS CATCH DUST
After a sandy week the folds are wiped one by one with a narrow vacuum nozzle — a quarter of an hour. The bottom track is swept out, or the fabric starts moving in jerks.
04WHAT TO SETTLE AT THE SURVEY
- The cassette side — where there is clear wall in front of it
- The threshold: the track must not block the drainage channel
- Cord tension shows immediately on a wide opening
- Door openings in our price list start at 250 AED
Who it suits
Suits you if
Choose pleated where the opening is wide and the space beside it is not. A patio door onto the terrace, an exit to the pool, a wide window with a bench under it: the cassette takes a few centimetres and the opening stays clear. It also works where you walk through several times a day, because the mesh parts under your hand and comes back. People pick it for the view as well: folded away, the accordion almost disappears against the frame.
Not for you if
Pleats collect dust. After a sandy week in Dubai you will be going along the folds with a narrow vacuum nozzle, and that takes a quarter of an hour rather than a minute. The bottom track sits on the floor, so sand starts its journey there. For a kitchen window opened twice a season a fixed frame is cheaper and needs no care at all. If your opening is narrow and you rarely open it, pleated is money spent on flexibility you will never use.
How it works
The mesh is stitched into a fine vertical pleat and runs between two guides, one at the top and one at the floor. You pull the handle, the accordion spreads across the opening and holds its shape on the tension of a cord threaded through the folds. Release the catch and it retracts into the cassette, compressing to a few centimetres.
There is no spring and no motor inside, so there is very little to break. The cord is a consumable and it can be replaced.
Against a sliding screen the difference is in the guides and the support. A sliding panel rides on its own rail and always occupies half the opening. A pleated screen frees the opening completely and needs no second recess beside the window.
Against a roller screen the difference is the width. A roller retracts just as neatly, but its spring cannot pull a sheet wider than roughly a metre and a half evenly. A rigid frame cannot pass through a walk-through opening at all.
One detail people miss: the bottom guide is flat, a few millimetres high. You walk over it barefoot and with a tray in your hands. It matters most on a terrace door, and it is the reason pleated systems ended up on so many Dubai villas.

What it costs
Door openings in our price list start at 250 AED and panoramic doors are the main pleated use case. The calculator then works from area at 320 AED per square metre and adds 5% VAT. Options are priced per unit: a handle at 45 AED, a child lock at 35, an extra frame at 95. Width works through area, so a door 6 by 2.4 metres is 14.4 square metres and costs accordingly. The figure in the calculator is provisional. The final price comes from the survey, because posts, opening height and which way you walk through all affect it. The survey itself is free.
An accordion can be stopped anywhere along the run: there is simply no spring pulling the fabric back.
Common questions
Will the bottom track get in the way?
It is flat and only a few millimetres high. You walk over it without noticing, and that is exactly why pleated systems suit terrace doors.
How do I clean the folds?
A narrow vacuum nozzle along the pleats, then a damp cloth. In a dusty month this is a quarter-hour job rather than a minute one, and it is the honest downside of the system.
What if my opening is wider than 6 metres?
Then it is split into two units meeting in the middle, or you look at a motorised screen. The survey will tell you which fits your opening.
Can you match the colour of my windows?
Yes, we powder-coat to the RAL palette. It is part of the order, not a surcharge announced at the end.
How long after the survey?
We cut profile to your sizes in our own workshop, so we are not waiting on anyone's shipment. The date is confirmed at the survey.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Proof, not promises

Our building maintenance was taking too long, so I contacted them directly. They asked for photos on WhatsApp, sent a quotation and arranged a date. Two installers arrived exactly on time, used shoe covers and finished three windows and a balcony door before lunch. They even adjusted a loose window handle without charging extra.

My cat has always been a nightmare for scratching nets — she destroyed the last ones I had. They recommended a heavy-duty scratch-resistant mesh and it is brilliant. She has tried her hardest to claw through it and hasn't managed once. Much stronger than the regular stuff, but still clear enough.

I have really big windows, so I thought screens would be a hassle. They came, measured up and made custom frames that fit exactly. No gaps anywhere. It has been months and nothing has moved or sagged.

My apartment is right next to a garden, so the bugs have always been relentless. They fitted fibre mesh on everything and it has been a game changer — it keeps out even the smallest midges that used to drive me crazy. Less sand gets in on windy days too.

I have a lot of plants at home, so I was worried the screens would block too much light. They recommended a very thin, almost invisible mesh. Plenty of light still comes through, and there are no more small insects around my plants.

After waking up with mosquito bites several times, I decided to install screens. They fitted magnetic screens on two bedroom windows — quick and clean. The magnets close properly and keep insects out, and the mesh quality is much better than the cheap ones I had before.
