PVL Uno is a single pleated mosquito screen that folds to one side of the frame. It is listed for more opening types than any other PVL system: casement and tilt-and-turn windows, doors, sliding windows and doors, sliding folding doors. On a balcony or patio door it costs AED 1,550 per door.

How the Uno mosquito screen works
Uno is one pleated panel with one cassette, fixed on the side of the frame you choose. Pull the handle bar across the opening and a magnetic catch holds it at the far jamb.
Push the bar back and the mesh folds away. On a Business Bay balcony door only a narrow strip at the edge of the frame stays covered, and the glass door works as usual.
On a mild winter evening you can open the balcony door, close Uno and give the AC a rest without letting mosquitoes into the bedroom.

Width and height limit each other: a panel close to its full height cannot also be at full width. The measurer checks the ratio on site and picks the profile.
Can your opening take Uno?
Is the opening 3.5 m wide or less?
One Uno panel can cover it. The exact limit depends on the height and the profile.
Look at Proxima or Double Centra, both made for openings up to 8 m.
Is one side of the frame free for the cassette?
Uno fits there and folds away to that side.
On a sliding door, Centra can sit on the central post instead.
Is it a small window over a sink or a bath?
Vertica pulls down from the top and keeps both sides free.
Uno covers windows and doors of ordinary size.

When Uno is the wrong mosquito net
Three cases where we suggest something else.
A glass wall wider than 3.5 m
One Uno panel has its limit. Proxima covers up to 8 m, or Double Centra splits the width between two panels closing at the centre.
A cat that climbs the mesh
Pleated mesh folds and is not made for claws. A fixed or hinged frame with pet-proof mesh holds up better.
A window you never open
A folding system makes little sense there. A fixed frame screen from AED 400 per m² does the same job.

How much is Uno for a balcony door?+
On our price list Uno on a balcony or patio door is AED 1,550 per door. For a window the measurer names the price at the free survey.
Can I choose which side Uno folds to?+
Yes. The cassette goes on the side you pick, and the mesh pulls across to the opposite jamb.
Will Uno fit a tilt-and-turn window?+
Tilt-and-turn windows are on the list of frames Uno is made for. At the survey the measurer checks the frame depth and where the cassette goes.
What is the difference between Uno and Centra?+
Uno folds to one side of the frame. Centra keeps its cassette on the central post of a sliding door, where the glass leaves meet.
Is the bottom track a trip hazard on the balcony?+
No. It is low and flat, so you step over it, and the glass door slides as before.
