The complication with a sliding door is that the sash already occupies its own track and travels sideways. The screen needs a second line, and it goes either onto the existing frame or onto an add-on outside.
The threshold decides everything here. On sliding doors in Dubai villas the bottom rail is often recessed flush with the floor precisely so it is comfortable to walk over. A pleated screen in that case gets a flat bottom guide a few millimetres high: it does not collect sand and nobody trips on it.
The second difference from a pleated screen on a hinged door is width. A sliding sash is usually wider than an ordinary door, and the fabric has further to travel. Cord tension matters here: if it slackens the pleats stop gathering evenly and the screen starts to lead. On a wide opening that shows immediately; on a narrow one it can go unnoticed for years.
Third, the side. The cassette goes on the side the sash travels towards, otherwise you are pulling the screen against the door. That takes a minute to establish at the survey and is expensive to move after fitting.
