A double door has two halves and either can be opened. The screen has to preserve that freedom: closing the opening from one side only throws away half the convenience. The answer is a hinged pair or pleated parting to the centre.

The post in the middle is the main compromise. A hinged pair always has one, because the leaves need something to close against. Pleated has no post but does have a vertical seam in the fabric, which is also visible.
A two-way door, one that swings both ways, is a separate case. The screen goes outside only, and it must not obstruct the leaf travelling inwards. That almost always means pleated.
Fourth, the closer. On a double door a screen that people forget to close is pointless, and they forget more often because there are two leaves. We recommend closers on a hinged pair from the outset.
