UltraView is the clearest fabric we fit. The fibre is thinner and the weave more open, so the mesh reads far less across a window than any other grade. It exists for one reason: people who bought a flat for the view and do not want a grey film across it.

What this mesh is
Two things make the difference. The fibre is thinner, so less of the opening is physically covered, and the weave is more open, so less light is scattered. Together they mean you look through the screen rather than at it, which is the whole point.
Our price list records light transmission for this fabric as 100%. We flag that plainly rather than quoting it as a feature: no woven mesh passes literally all the light, and this figure is the one thing on the mesh page we have asked the owner to confirm. What is true and observable is that it is the clearest fabric in the range by a visible margin.
The trade-off is durability and protection. A thinner fibre is more easily damaged, so this is not the fabric for a doorway people push through or a window a cat visits. It also does nothing extra against fine midges or dust, because the aperture is not the point here.
When people choose it
Choose it for a window or a balcony door where the view is the reason the room exists: sea, marina, skyline, golf course.
Choose it for a dark room where every bit of daylight counts, because it takes less light than any other mesh we fit.
Do not choose it for a doorway in daily use, for a home with a cat or dog, or for a ground floor where the screen may take physical contact.
Do not choose it expecting it to solve midges. If small insects are the complaint, a finer weave is the answer and it will cost you some of the view.
Screens get put off for years for one reason: the view. This is the only mesh that answers that with a number.
Common questions
Is it really 100% light transmission?
That is the figure in our published price list, and it is the one number on this page we have asked the owner to confirm. What is certain is that it is visibly the clearest fabric we fit.
Will it stop midges?
No better than standard. If midges are the problem, you need a finer weave and you will lose some clarity.
Is it fragile?
The fibre is thinner, so it is more easily damaged. Not for doorways or homes with pets.
Where does it make the biggest difference?
On a large window with a view, seen from a few metres away. That is where ordinary mesh is most obvious.
Can it replace the mesh in my current frame?
Yes, if the frame is straight.
