Most people buy a screen because of mosquitoes. In Dubai a large share buy one because of sand. Anti-sand fabric is woven for that job: it holds fine dust back and, just as importantly, sheds what settles on it instead of trapping it in the weave.

What this mesh is
The instinctive answer to dust is a finer mesh, and it is the wrong one. A smaller aperture catches more particles, and every particle it catches stays in the weave. Within a few months the fabric stops passing air and the room stops ventilating, which is exactly what the screen was meant to prevent.
Anti-sand fabric is built around the opposite idea. The weave and the surface are chosen so fine dust does not lodge between the fibres: it sits on the surface and washes off. You still clean it, but cleaning restores it rather than merely postponing the moment it becomes a panel.
That is why we treat this as a separate product rather than another grade in the range. It does not compete with anti-midge mesh; it answers a different question. If your complaint is small insects, this is not the fabric. If your complaint is a grey film on the windowsill after a windy week, it is.
When people choose it
Take it if you live on the desert edge, next to open plots, near an active construction site, or anywhere the wind comes off unbuilt ground. Villas in newer communities and homes in the western region are the obvious cases.
Take it if you have already tried a fine mesh and ended up removing it because the room became stuffy. That is the classic route to this fabric.
Do not take it if the real problem is midges from water: a different weave solves that, and this one will not.
Do not take it in a sheltered flat in dense city blocks where the dust is ordinary urban grime. Standard mesh and a wash twice a year handle that at a lower price.

Common questions
Is this just a finer mesh?
No, and that is the point. Finer mesh traps dust permanently. This one is woven so dust sits on the surface and washes off.
Will it stop midges too?
Not reliably. Midges need a finer aperture, and that is a different fabric.
How often will I have to wash it?
More often than in a sheltered district, but washing restores it rather than merely delaying the problem.
Can it go into my existing frame?
Yes, if the frame is straight we re-stretch it. The frame stays yours.
Does it cut the view?
Slightly more than standard mesh. If the view is the priority, UltraView is the other end of that trade-off.
