A window is a different job from a door for one reason: the sill. A fixed panel sits in front of it permanently, and anything on that sill becomes unreachable. A pleated screen folds away, so the sill goes back to being usable for most of the day.
The second difference is the size of the sash. Window pleats are shorter, the fabric is lighter and the cord tension has less work to do, which is why a pleated window screen holds its shape longer than the same system on a wide door.
Where the cassette goes is decided by the reveal. If there is a deep return on one side, it disappears there completely. On a flush opening it sits proud, and that is visible from inside, so it is agreed at the survey rather than discovered afterwards.
One detail specific to Dubai: pleats catch dust, and on a window that gets sand from an open plot the folds need a narrow vacuum nozzle every few weeks. That is the honest cost of the system, and on a window opened rarely it may not be worth paying.
