Swing and handles decide the screen
French doors are two glass leaves on hinges, opening into the room or out to the garden. The mosquito screen goes on the side the glass does not swing to, so both leaves open fully.
On that side the handles stick out. The screen frame needs enough depth to clear them, and the measurer checks this gap before choosing the system.
