“The roller mechanism on our existing net broke. They replaced it with a new upgraded system that rolls smoother and locks in place better. Much better than the original.”

Mosquito nets in Jumeirah Islands
Every villa in Jumeirah Islands has a private pool, and each island is ringed by water, so mosquitoes reach the pool doors first. A pleated screen on a door to the pool deck costs AED 1,550 per door, French doors start from AED 810 and windows from AED 380. The survey is free.

Sixteen villas to an island
Nakheel built Jumeirah Islands as 46 small islands in a lake of seawater, with 16 villas on each. That makes 736 houses, and every one has its own swimming pool.
The living room opens straight onto the pool deck, and the lawn runs down to the lake edge. That is where the family spends the evening, and where mosquitoes come looking for an open door.

A mosquito screen in your villa's colours
The villas were built in several themes, Islamic, Mediterranean, European and Tropical among them, and the frames differ from one style to the next.
We powder coat the screen profile in the RAL of your frames, from white to dark brown or a wood effect, so it looks like part of the door. Painting to order is AED 250 per running metre.

Living on the water: honest limits
Two things lake-side screens need from you.
Salt film on the mesh
Air off seawater leaves a light film. Rinse the screen with fresh water now and then, and do not scrub the pleats.
Wind across the lake
Fold pleated screens away when a strong wind blows over the water. The mesh lasts longer.

Questions
What people ask
How much do mosquito nets cost for a Jumeirah Islands villa?+
A pleated screen on a pool deck door is AED 1,550 per door, French doors start from AED 810 and windows from AED 380. The free survey gives one price for the whole villa.
Can you screen the whole pool terrace?+
If it has a roof or pergola on posts, zip screens can close the sides. An open deck is screened at the doors instead.
Will the screens corrode by the lake?+
Aluminium does not rust, and the powder coat on our profiles protects it further. Rinse off the salt film from time to time.
Can the screens match our wood-look frames?+
Yes. Profiles come in RAL colours and wood effects. Painting to your frame costs AED 250 per running metre.
Does Nakheel need to approve the screens?+
Nakheel asks for an NOC before modifications, pergolas included. A screen inside the door frame changes little, but check with the community office first.
How long do we wait for the screens?+
About 3 to 5 days from the survey. The frame has a 5 year warranty and the fitting 2 years.
