Typical Jumeirah Park architecture with an insect screen on the window in front

Mosquito Nets in Jumeirah Park

Jumeirah Park is villas on large plots with no water features inside the community. There are fewer insects here than by water, but open building means more sand and wind, and the main concern shifts from the aperture to the strength of the construction.

01THERE ARE NO LAKES INSIDE THE COMMUNITY

There are fewer mosquitoes than next door, and the enquiry here comes less from insects than from dust: the open ground is swept by wind.

02THE MAIN FAILURE IS A LOOSENED FIXING

Open plots mean wind, and garden doors go first. Second is mesh pushed out of the channel on a wide opening.

03SAND ABRADES THE STRAND

It is abrasive wear: the mesh loses clarity sooner than in sheltered streets. That is not dirt, and washing does not bring it back.

04HOW WE HANDLE A LARGE ORDER

  • We bring all the screens at once and fit them in a single day
  • That costs less than stretching the work across several visits
  • Entry on a resident's word to security
  • On wide doors the channel depth is taken with a margin

What is built here

The community is planned spaciously: wide streets, big plots, air between the houses. The villas are large, with garden exits from several rooms and with terraces.

The absence of water features inside the community is a noticeable difference from neighbouring districts. There are fewer mosquitoes, and the request comes not so much from insects as from dust: open space is swept by the wind, and sand settles inside the house through open apertures.

Hence a practical shift: in Jumeirah Park people ask more often about fabric against sand and dust than about a fine aperture against flies. Those are different fabrics and should not be confused.

Wind on open plots works on the construction. A wide garden door with a light screen starts banging, and the fabric is pushed out of the guide. Here people take a rigid profile and a deep channel, and on terraces, systems with a lock along the edge.

Fourth: the plots are large and a house ends up with many screens. It makes sense to price the project as a whole rather than one opening at a time.

What we have done here

We do not publish addresses. The survey is free, and at it the whole house is priced rather than a single door.

Without invention: in this community it is sensible to ask straight away for a price for the whole house. There are many openings, and one at a time works out dearer.

Getting to you

Entry to the community is on notice from the resident to security. There is parking at the house and a clear approach.

A large volume is easier done in one go: we bring all the screens at once and fit them in a single day rather than stretching the installation across several visits.

What breaks here most often

Open plots mean wind, and the main failure here is a fixing worked loose on garden doors. Second is fabric pushed out of the channel on wide openings, when the guide depth was chosen without margin. Third is abrasive wear: sand off the open ground polishes the thread, and the fabric loses its transparency sooner than in sheltered quarters.

Common questions

We have more dust than mosquitoes — what should we take?

Fabric against sand and dust. That is not the same as a fine aperture against flies.

The screen on the garden door keeps getting blown out — why?

Open building and wind. You need a rigid profile and a deep channel.

Can the whole house be priced at once?

Yes, and in this community that works out cheaper than one opening at a time.

Is a pass needed?

Warn security about the visit; that is enough.

Do you fit it all in one day?

We try to: we bring the whole order at once so the fitting is not stretched out.
