“The roller mechanism on our existing net broke. They replaced it with a new upgraded system that rolls smoother and locks in place better. Much better than the original.”

Mosquito nets in JVC
JVC mixes Nakheel villas and townhouses with apartment buildings. In a house, mosquitoes come in through the garden and roof terrace doors. A swinging garden door takes a hinged screen door with a closer, from AED 810. A pleated screen on a sliding terrace door is AED 1,550. For a dog or cat, pet-proof mesh costs AED 800 per m².

Villas and townhouses among parks
Nakheel's Jumeirah Village Circle has more than 2,000 villas and townhouses among apartment buildings, parks and sports courts. Some of its four bedroom villas come with a large roof terrace.
A house with a garden and a roof terrace has more doors to the outside than a flat. Each one lets in mosquitoes from watered lawns and planting.

Check your garden door
Do you have a dog or cat that goes in and out?
Choose pet-proof mesh at AED 800 per m². It takes claws and paws.
Standard mesh at AED 400 per m² is enough.
Does the garden door swing open rather than slide?
A hinged screen door with a closer works with it.
Sliding glass needs a pleated or sliding screen instead.
Is there a roof terrace with its own door?
Add it to the survey. One visit covers every opening in the house.
Then the garden door and the windows are the whole job.

Straight answers
Honest limits in a home with pets
A heavy dog that jumps
Pet-proof mesh resists claws. A big dog that throws its weight at the door can still bend the frame.
Pleated screens and pets
Pleated mesh has no pet-proof version. For a sliding door and a cat, a sliding screen with pet mesh is the stronger pick.

Questions
What people ask
Do I need a Nakheel NOC for a mosquito screen?+
Villa changes in JVC go through a Nakheel NOC, and building works also need a Trakhees permit. A screen inside an existing frame is a small change, but check with community management first.
Do you fit magnetic screen doors?+
No. For a garden door in daily use we fit a hinged screen door with a closer, from AED 810, or a pleated screen at AED 1,550 per door.
Can a pleated screen take pet mesh?+
No, pleated screens fold their own thin mesh. For a door the dog or cat uses, take a hinged or sliding screen with pet mesh at AED 800 per m².
Do you fit screens in JVC apartment buildings too?+
Yes. Flats get pleated door screens at AED 1,550 per door, sliding ones from AED 670 and window frame screens from AED 400 per m².
How soon can the house be done?+
3 to 5 days from the survey. Our office is in Damac Hills 2, and the measuring visit to JVC is free.
