In a villa or townhouse the door that stands open most is the one to the yard. Children, the dog, shopping bags and the gardener pass through it many times a day.
Evenings after the lawn is watered bring mosquitoes straight to that door. A pleated net lets it stay open, then folds into its cassette when the door shuts for the night.

How a pleated mosquito net door works
The mesh is folded into narrow pleats, and thin cords run through them to keep it straight. Pull the handle bar across and the pleats open evenly from the cassette to the far jamb.
A magnetic catch holds the bar shut. Push it back and the mesh folds into a narrow stack beside the frame, leaving the whole doorway clear for bags and bicycles.

Front steps and stone sills are often not level. The low track needs a straight line, so the measurer checks it with a level.

How much is a pleated mosquito net for an entrance door?+
From AED 670 for a single entrance door with Uno and from AED 810 for a pair of doors with Double Centra. A sliding courtyard door is AED 1,550.
Can I still lock the front door with the net fitted?+
Yes. The net is a separate layer in the frame, so the door, its handle and its lock work as before.
Is a pleated mesh door the same as a screen door?+
Not quite. A screen door swings on hinges and shuts with a closer; a pleated mesh door folds sideways and needs no swing space.
Can children and older parents use it easily?+
Yes. The handle bar moves with little effort, and the low flat track is easy to step over with a pram or a walking stick.
Will sand from the yard block the track?+
Sandy shoes drop grit right onto it. Vacuum the track regularly, and always after a shamal, and the mesh keeps running freely.
Do you drill into the door itself?+
No. The net is fixed to the door frame with a few small screws, never to the door leaf. The measurer shows you where they go.
How soon is it fitted, and what is covered?+
