There will be no perfectly flat floor under the screen. A profile across the entrance is visible to the eye; a suitcase and a pushchair roll over it.

The entrance is the opening where a screen either works in daily life or gets propped open in the first week. Everything here follows from that.
The mesh parts down the middle and the two halves are drawn together by a magnetic strip along the vertical seam. There is nothing to press and no handle to find, which matters when you have shopping in both hands.
The threshold is the second decision. An entrance is walked over dozens of times a day, and a raised bottom track becomes something to trip on in the dark and something that collects sand. The flat guide used here is a few millimetres high and is the reason pleated systems suit entrances better than sliding ones.
The third point is dust. An entrance door faces the street or the yard, and the folds collect more than they would in a bedroom. Cleaning is more frequent here than anywhere else in the house, and that is worth knowing before you choose.
