When is mosquito season in Dubai?
There is no mosquito-free month in Dubai. Mosquitoes breed wherever water stands for a few days: watered lawns, pool areas, lakes, air conditioner drip trays and puddles after rain. Most get indoors in the cooler months, from autumn to spring, when windows and terrace doors stay open in the evening. Fit screens before you open up the house.

Where Dubai mosquitoes breed
Mosquitoes need still water for a few days. A Dubai home offers it even in August, because gardens are watered daily and air conditioners drip all year.
Communities built round lakes, canals and golf courses have more water close to the house. Towers have less, but a balcony full of planters breeds its own.

What surveys and the municipality say
A published survey of UAE mosquitoes (Parasites and Vectors, 2019) caught the common house mosquito, Culex quinquefasciatus, mostly in winter rather than spring. Winter is also when Dubai windows stay open longest.
After the heavy rain of spring 2026, Dubai Municipality released fish that eat mosquito larvae into standing water. Its advice to residents: clear stagnant water from around the home.
