What is built here
The district's building stock is mixed. There are residential towers with typical flats and balconies, there are townhouses and villas, and there are office and academic buildings.
What sets Silicon Oasis apart from its neighbours is the share of rented housing. A tenant is bound by the lease: the frame must not be drilled, and yet a screen is wanted. Hence the demand for magnetic systems and hole-free fixings such as hooks.
Honestly, that does not work everywhere. A magnetic screen holds in moderate wind and on a small opening. On a high floor with a constant draught it tears away, and it is better to agree a proper fixing with the owner than to replace the fabric every season.
Second: the district lies away from water, and there are fewer mosquitoes here than in lakeside quarters. The main complaints are about small insects and dust rather than mosquitoes.
