Which mosquito screen mesh lasts in the Dubai climate
For most Dubai windows, standard fibreglass mesh from AED 400 per m² is the right choice: it does not rust in sea air, and rescreening a frame later costs AED 200. Pick another mesh only where a window has a special job: anti-dust facing the shamal, pet mesh where claws reach, reinforced mesh on a busy door.

What Dubai does to a mosquito screen
Four things wear a screen here: strong sun on the mesh, sand carried by the shamal, salty air near the sea, and hands or paws pushing on it.
Two windows of one flat can age at different speeds. The one that takes the afternoon sun and the wind has the hardest life, so it is the first to deserve a better mesh.

Mesh colour and frame colour
Standard mesh comes in grey or black. The measurer brings both, so hold them against your own window and look out before you choose.
The frame is aluminium, powder coated to match the RAL colour of your windows, so the screen reads as part of the frame. Repainting an old frame costs AED 250 per running metre.

Anti-dust on every window
It lets less air through and clogs sooner. Use it on the windward side only.
Pet mesh with no pet
Thicker threads darken the view a little. Without claws in the house, standard mesh is better value.
Special mesh on a pleated screen
Pleated screens use their own folding mesh with a 0.8 × 0.8 mm cell, so the choice there is narrower than on frame screens.

Which mesh lasts best near the sea?+
Fibreglass and polyester meshes do not rust, so they suit windows in Marina, JBR and on the Palm. Aluminium and metal meshes need more care in salty air.
Is anti-dust mesh worth it on every window?+
No. It holds back more sand but lets less air through, so keep it for the side that faces the wind.
Can I change the mesh later without a new frame?+
Yes. New standard mesh in your old frame is AED 200. Metal mesh is dearer at AED 300 per screen, aluminium at AED 350.
