What is built here
The building is towers in a line along the waterfront. The flats are standard, with an exit to a balcony, often through a sliding door. There are few separately opening windows.
Height and water together create the same situation as in Dubai's waterside districts: insects below, wind above. On the lower and middle floors the complaints are about mosquitoes off the lagoon; on the upper ones, about the screen being blown about and banging.
Second: the towers stand close in a line, and corridors form between them where the flow strengthens. That is not theory: it is exactly why light fixings on balcony doors do not hold here.
Third: the balconies are long and narrow, and the cassette goes at the end.
Fourth, a local point: the district is right against the Dubai border and many residents work in Dubai. The practical consequence for us is simple — a visit here is easier to plan than one deep into the emirate, and it is often combined with Dubai addresses.
