Emirates City is a cluster of new residential towers on the edge of Ajman, standing fairly isolated. The country around is open, so the wind here is noticeably stronger than in the emirate's dense central quarters.

What is built here
The building is high-rise residential blocks put up relatively recently, with standard flats and balconies.
The open country around is the defining feature. The towers stand without the shelter of neighbouring building, and the wind arrives from any direction unobstructed. On the upper floors that is a constant load on a screen: light constructions bang and get pushed out of the channel.
Second: there is little greenery around and no water, so there are fewer insects than in the centre by the corniche. People here call about dust more often than about mosquitoes.
Third: the buildings are new, the profiles standard, and the fixing is chosen easily and quickly.
Fourth: a large share of the flats is let, so the question of whether the frame may be drilled comes up often. The answer depends on the lease, and it is worth checking before ordering.

Getting to you
In the towers you need to warn the concierge or building management; the procedure is gentler than in Dubai. The goods lift is not booked everywhere.

Towers in open country take wind from every side, and first place goes to fixings worked loose. Second is fabric pushed out of the channel on the upper floors. Third is sand off the surrounding empty ground packing the guides. There is little corrosion: no water nearby.

The towers stand in open country without shelter. You need a rigid fixing and a deep channel.
Are there many mosquitoes?
Fewer than by the water in the centre of the emirate. Dust is the more common nuisance.

Check your lease. There are options without holes, but on the upper floors they hold less well.
